DaisyMe Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that provides strategic direction, fiduciary oversight, and accountability to the communities and funders we serve. Our board structure reflects best practices in nonprofit governance and is designed to meet the requirements of government grants, foundation funding, and federal contracting.
We are actively recruiting independent board members — professionals with expertise in healthcare, law, finance, philanthropy, and community development who share our commitment to health equity in Dallas-Fort Worth and Texas.

DaisyMe Foundation's governance structure is built around four defined officer roles — each with a clear focus, a primary partner, and a key deliverable. Independent board candidates are invited to express interest in any open seat.
Board Chair
Chief Officer
- Lead quarterly and special board meetings; set agendas in collaboration with executive leadership
- Act as the primary liaison between the governing board and the executive team
- Appoint committee chairs and ensure Finance, Governance, and Development committees operate productively
- Serve as chief spokesperson and ambassador in high-level community, corporate, and donor spaces
Board Treasurer

- Oversee development and board approval of the annual operating budget; monitor performance against targets
- Present clear, concise financial statements and balance sheets at each board meeting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of IRS Form 990, state registrations, and coordinate external audits
- Establish and monitor internal financial controls, investment strategies, and reserve policies
Board Secretary
Governance & Records
- Record, distribute, and archive accurate minutes of all board and executive committee meetings
- Ensure board activities align with the organization's bylaws and legal requirements
- Coordinate meeting schedules, send official notices, and distribute agendas and board packets
- Serve as custodian of corporate records, including bylaws, conflict-of-interest forms, and historical documents
Board Development Chair
Governance & Nominating
- Identify, vet, and nominate qualified candidates to fill board vacancies, closing strategic skills gaps
- Design and execute onboarding programs for new members; provide ongoing board training
- Oversee annual self-assessments for individual board members and the board as a whole
- Plan for future leadership transitions, ensuring a strong pipeline for officer positions

We are looking for leaders who believe health is a right.
The ideal DaisyMe Foundation board member brings professional expertise, community connections, and a genuine commitment to health equity. You do not need to be a healthcare professional — we welcome leaders from law, finance, philanthropy, technology, education, and community organizing.
- Demonstrated commitment to health equity, social justice, or community service
- Professional expertise in healthcare, law, finance, philanthropy, or nonprofit governance
- Strong network in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, or nationally in health equity spaces
- Willingness to leverage personal and professional connections for the Foundation's benefit
- Availability to attend quarterly board meetings and serve on at least one committee
- Independence from DaisyMe Foundation staff, contractors, and executive leadership
